Your nose tingling with the sweet aroma of freshly roasted Saffron. Everywhere you look, you see incredible spices filling the air with rich aromatics. The warm smell of cumin and the zesty aroma of preserved lemon sweep across you, so intense you can almost taste them.

As you walk around the corner on your left is a Turkish Pizza stand. Equipped with a flame heated oven, this merchant is pumping out traditional Turkish Pizzas topped with Shaved Spit roasted lamb and salty tender Haloumi. You think to order one, when you spot something that catches your eye…

Growing tired you find a large tent with a familiar sweet aroma drifting out….rose water. As you walk between the large cushions, you work your way to the counter which is covered in Turkish goodies. There’s Traditional turkish delight and Lebanese ladies fingers (which are similar to baklava). To your right, there’s freshly baked sticky date and banana pudding right next to a dense, rich looking brownie with turkish delight oozing out. As your time in the market comes to an end, you look back and realise that everything you tasted was very original, inspiring and authentic.
